Coffee and Carols at The Triangle, Bolton

The now annual, and ever popular, Coffee and Carols was held on Friday 12 December. Attended by just under 60 people, women and men alike, Carols were selected on the day by the audience members and interspersed by Christmas associated readings .

Leading the event, hosted at the Triangle Church , Bolton, Rev Anne Cash invited everyone to make the connections between the well known Bible stories that would be read at Carol Services, and the contemporary and thoughtful readings given that morning. Contributions offered by members of Methodist Women in Britain, who had organised this fellowship and missional morning, ranged from global to local topics, poetry, both amusing and poignant, firm favourites and newly written material.

A collection for AIM North West, the local charity chosen and supported throughout this year, exceeded £250. This will be presented before Christmas to support the work among both individuals, and families, affected by domestic violence and abuse, for ALL INDIVIDUALS MATTER (AIM).

At the church, members were delighted by a prompt visit from Father Christmas, to read his ‘piece ‘, before heading off on a busy schedule round the primary schools. Mince pies and coffee sustained the audience, and the minister of the church, Rev Robert Kasema, commented on the wonderful singing that filled the building. Thanks were due to Anne Massey on the keyboard, competent and ready to play anything!
