Davyhulme community celebrates re-opening of Cornerstone Methodist Church

Cornerstone Methodist Church held an open day on 3rd March 2025 to celebrate the re-opening of their building.

For over 10 years, there had been a redevelopment planned for the church, situated in Davyhulme, Manchester, to provide a welcoming, accessible space for the community.

Over 175 people from the community attended the open day, complete with The Mayor of Trafford, the Leader of Trafford Council, MP’s and Rev Dr James Tebbutt (Chair of the North West England District). It was a fabulous day celebrating all the hard work that has been done to bring them to this stage.

A key aspect of the project, completed this year, was to build a link corridor from the main building to the activity hall. The Stained-Glass window has come from Trinity Church in Stockport, when they closed. It represents 3 churches coming together, just as they have had 3 churches joining together: Hayeswater Road Methodist Church, Flixton Methodist Church (Irlam Road) and Davyhulme (Wesley) Methodist Church (Brook Road).

This is only the beginning, so prayers are appreciated as they move forward with this next stage in the life of their church.

Thank you to all those people who have been involved in this redevelopment; it has taken much work, commitment and prayer.
