District Grants

We’re pleased to announce that the District Grants Policy is now live, and applications are open! Churches and circuits within NWED that are looking to engage in new projects or initiatives to further mission and ministry are encouraged to consider applying for a grant. Information on the general principles for the provision of grants can be found on page 5 of the Policy.

There are two types of grant available:

Small Grants (up to £1,500)

• Designed to cover seed funding, smaller purchases, low-cost training, funding for warm spaces and 3Generate attendance. The application process is designed for a quick decision based on clear information of the proposal, benefits, outcomes and cost. In some cases a decision may be deferred to the next meeting of the Grants Committee, but normally a decision will be made within 14 days where possible. Any small grants applications received two weeks prior to an upcoming committee meeting will not be processed until after that meeting.

Larger Grants (up to £30,000)

• Awarded across all areas of church life for projects that impact on mission and ministry and may involve property, employment, training and development, or larger purchases. Applications are taken to the next District Grants Committee meeting.

Upcoming Grants Committee Meetings

Grant applications for larger grants must be received by the District as soon as possible and normally at least 21 days before the next scheduled Committee meeting.

If you’re considering applying, here are the remaining Grants Committee dates for this connexional year:

7 October 2025, 2pm

12 January 2026, 10am

16 April 2026, 1pm

6 July 2026, 1pm

Whilst every effort will be made to keep to these dates, there may be unforeseen circumstances on rare occasions which would require a change of date. Any revised dates will be published as soon as practically possible.
