Layton Methodist volunteers recognised at Blackpool Town Hall

Volunteers from Layton Methodist Church were recently recognised at a special Thank You Event hosted by the Mayor of Blackpool in the Mayor’s Parlour at Blackpool Town Hall.

The event brought together volunteers from Layton Methodist, Forward Project and partners from Layton Together to celebrate the many people who give their time each week to support the local community.

Through the work taking place in and around Layton Methodist Church, volunteers help support hundreds of residents each week through food support, cookery sessions, the Oasis Community Café, youth activities and community groups that bring people together and help tackle loneliness.

Mark Walmsley, Volunteer Chair of the Forward Project and Layton Together, said:

“It was a wonderful opportunity to simply say thank you. Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do and make a real difference to the lives of people in our community.”

While not all volunteers were able to attend, the event reflected the scale of the volunteer effort supporting residents across Layton.
