Life-Light of JOY’
At Macclesfield Methodist Church on Sunday 14th December, the Circuit gathered for the third Sunday of Advent, the ‘Life-Light of JOY’, and included in the service, a long-service certificate for 60 years of preaching for John Morrell and Anne Fielding, both of Broken Cross Methodist Church. John shared with the congregation how he had completed his Local Preachers studies and been accredited at the same time as his brother, Jim, who we remembered and gave thanks for, also. Although Anne was unable to be with us, we gave thanks to God for her, and the Superintendent Minister, Revd Deborah Lucas, will arrange a suitable time to present her certificate.
Fellow Local Preacher, Barbara Ogle, read the letter from the President and Vice President of Conference, before this was passed to John and to Anne.We celebrate the ministry of our Local Preachers and Worship Leaders across the churches and Circuits of our NWE District, and thank God for all who faithfully serve in preparation and leading of worship and preaching God’s Word.
