New Places for New People (NPNP) are new Christian communities for those not yet part of an existing church. They may look quite different from established churches because they will always reflect the new people encountering the love of God. The Methodist Church hopes to plant many NPNPs over the next five years.
The Manchester area is home to a New Places for New People project called Caleb Communities. Caleb equips new projects and communities to start and grow. Every circuit is being asked to imagine, begin and sustain something new. Could you begin something new in your community and become a part of the New Places for New People movement?

Resources
We are a supportive, digital community, passionate about wellbeing and tackling loneliness, providing a safe space to explore life questions and faith. We offer both ‘real-time’ online gatherings on Zoom, which usually take place monthly on a weekday evening, as well as discussion within our Facebook group.
Perhaps one of the most exciting things happening within Your Space is our global engagement, with people from as far as Canada and the USA joining our online gatherings. We offer participants a variety of ways to engage with our community – one size doesn’t fit all and accessibility for all is one of our key priorities.

The Neighbourhood Project is a missional piece of work being undertaken in Liverpool with funding from the Methodist Connexion (the national body of the Methodist Church).
Our aim is to:
- Explore a new missional approach to being the Church, outside of the Church walls.
- Enable members of the project to be missional in all aspects of their daily lives, with the people they spend the majority of their time.
- Develop a new form of worshipping community, rooted in the missional work of the project.
We are always looking for more locations for The Neighbourhood Project.
If you are thinking about getting involved, why not invite a member of our team to speak with you or your group. We can do this more formally within a church council, circuit, or CLT meeting, or more informally over coffee. If you’re an individual who wants to hear more, or a small group that is thinking about taking part, please do arrange a conversation, we’d love to talk with you.
There’s no official application process, but as we talk and explore together we will all get a sense of if this is right for your context at this time. There’s also no pressure, so if you invite us, begin exploring and then decide it’s not for you, that’s absolutely fine. We hope that the conversations will be useful for you, no matter what direction you decide to go in.

Although there are two halves to Sanctuary & Soul, there is one aim – building online community that wants to make a difference in the world.
The vision is rooted in a fictional abbey – in the ruins off the sanctuary we are building a community open to people of any spirituality, seeking to grow together and live out a desire to “love our neighbour”.
Alongside this, in the chapel of our old abbey, we are building an intentionally Christian community, more overtly naming that our desire to make the world a better place is rooted in our belief in Jesus and his teachings.
Rooted in the prayer rhythms of the Cumbrian saints, our ethos is focused around:
Eternity – an understanding that there is something bigger than us, whether that is “God” or some wider spiritual awareness
Community – we cannot navigate this life alone, we need to connect with one another.
Humanity – a core belief that our community should have the aim of building others up, being a blessing and loving the world around us.
