Reading: Psalm 16 v. 8-11
Notes:
God is ever near us even when we are not aware of that presence. The highs and lows in our lives are not experienced in isolation. They are shared by a loving God.
In the busyness of the commercial Advent it is easy to become unaware of that presence.
This is truly a time of Joy, the promised Messiah is about to enter the world in Human form, a God who is not distant but sharing our experience.
In an age where there is so much sadness and suffering in our world if we put him first in our lives we do nor need to be afraid for he is with us. In the words of the old chorus, Ive got the joy, joy joy down in my heart
He comes . The God of Light and Joy.
Wonder:
Can we be joyful in the midst of a suffering world?
Is it the Light of the world that brings the Joy?
Prayer:
God of light and joy make us aware of your presence as we discover the joy of knowing we are never alone. That every human experience you have shared knowing enables us to share joy at Advent.
