Active at Windlehurst in the United Stockport Circuit is a group for adults with additional needs. Recently the group has produced a work of art that will be displayed in an exhibition at Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery between June 21st and August 27th 2026.
The exhibition is an invitation for people to bring along their best piece of artwork and Active are very proud of what they have produced.
They took inspiration from the silhouette of a giraffe, and each member used watercolours to produce part of the picture on a canvas that have been brought together to show the overall picture.

“Hello there and welcome. Every person in our group is unique. We come from different backgrounds, have different abilities, different strengths and different ways of seeing the world. Some of us communicate with words and some through actions, creativity or simply being present. This piece celebrates individuality, belonging and the beauty that emerges when every person is valued.
