Time Travellers Escape Room Experience at Bramhall Methodist Church

This Christmas season, Bramhall Methodist Church hosted an innovative and engaging event for local primary school children, Cubs, and Brownies, inviting them to step back in time and explore the Christmas story through a Time Travellers experience.

The event centred around an Escape Room theme, where the children ventured through three interactive zones, solving puzzles and unlocking clues to piece together the Nativity story.

Time traveller escape room experience

  • Zone 1: The Roman Era
Children learned about Caesar Augustus, the census, and the journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem. The immersive storytelling brought this historical period to life.
  • Zone 2: The Magi
This zone introduced the visit of the Wise Men. They explored the significance of Frankincense and Myrrh, experiencing the aromas of these ancient gifts and discovering their symbolic meanings.
  • Zone 3: Angels
Here the children learned about the Angels’ message to shepherds and Mary, emphasising their role in the Christmas story.

At each zone, participants had to solve challenges to open boxes containing pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. By the end of the journey, the children assembled these pieces to reveal a beautiful picture of the Nativity.

The team at Bramhall Methodist Church were thrilled to share this experience with 300 children. It was a wonderful way to bring the Christmas story to life, and brought a deeper understanding of its significance.
