Friday 14th March was a moving and memorable occasion, with The Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, the Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton, and other honoured guests joining Victoria Hall, Bolton to celebrate their 125th Anniversary. In his speech before unveiling the 125th Anniversary Plaque, the Mayor captured the spirit of Victoria Hall, saying:
“The Victoria Hall was built with a mission – to be a place of gathering and outreach, a space that welcomes everyone. Just imagine how many generations of Bolton families have passed through these doors to learn, grow, and find community. So, as we celebrate 125 years of Victoria Hall, we are not looking back – we are looking forward. Places like this don’t just belong to the past; they are vital to our present and future. Victoria Hall has always been a beacon of hope, a place of welcome, and a cornerstone of our community. As we move into the next chapter of its story, it is up to all of us to ensure it continues to thrive for generations to come. The Victoria Hall is a living part of Bolton’s story – one that we should all be proud of.”

Throughout the weekend, Victoria Hall welcomed over 60 visitors on guided tours and hosted over 20 tower tours – an exciting first! Saturday’s Victoria Hall 125th Anniversary and Bolton Town of Culture Gala Day was a tremendous success, drawing more than 400 visitors who enjoyed performances from over 90 talented individuals and groups.
The weekend ended with a wonderful church service and lunch enjoyed by 60 members from the church congregation.
This celebration would not have been possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of Victoria Hall’s volunteers, staff and performers, and all those who support it. Here’s to the future of Victoria Hall!
